Just sharing a moment

Just thought I would share what just happened . I just got out of the bath and was washing some dishes . I am almost 8 weeks op. My daughter walked past and yelped " Mum your bleeding your bleeding all down your leg " . I jumped in horror thinking oh no quick better go check my nightgown I am flooding better get more pads. Then my daughter pointed to my leg that did have a stream of blood on it , I then remembered I cut my leg shaving and thinking it was nothing ignored it [ it was bleeding but my daughter is a bit dramatic ]. I think giggled to myself you silly thing you aren't flooding you are not on your period and you never ever will be you have just had a hysterectomy .
How quickly I forgot and went into the checking the clothes and going into "emergency blood crime scene mode " .

Re: Just sharing a moment

I hadn't thought of that. Never again will I have to deal with periods that made my bathroom look like a scene from CSI!!

Re: Just sharing a moment

I think we all find it hard to believe no more periods. I can't wait to feel healed enough that I hopefully don't have to think about any of this too much. I am almost 48 and have had mine since I was about 12 or 13. Even back to middle school I stained my pants and would be to embrassed to tell anyone so just tie a sweater around my waist.

Re: Just sharing a moment

Thanks for sharing!! I still feel a bit in the "denial" zone, I know I'm home resting and healing but I don't really allow myself to feel, or think about why I'm home. But yeah, I'm 50, been having periods since I was 12 1/2, I've always said I was so ready to be done! Pretty sure other than fibroid symptoms, I'm not even anywhere close to menopause! I've already told my daughters I'm gving them all my tampons as stocking stuffers for Xmas. We are truly free from all that drama and madness and uneasiness

Re: Just sharing a moment

I found pads on sale and ALMOST (like was holding) a pack of overnight (aka my light day) pads when I remembered.

Now I have two bags full of various feminine products waiting to go to my sister. She'll be in shape for years.
