Is sore swollen belly normal 4 weeks after hysterectomy??

Hi. Im now 4 weeks and 3 days post op. Had uterus, cervix and tubes removed. Im 48 and considered reasonably fit due to farm work. Until my adenomyosis got so bad I could barely move. Now Im this far along post op and am I expecting too much? I have swollen tender belly still and in the afternoons it feels heavy like im 9 mths pregnant! I am still wearing track pants and loose clothing. I bounced back fast after child birth and kidney surgery yet this op seems to be 3 steps forward, 2 steps back. I am energetic enough in the mornings but as the day progresses Ive had it. I know everyone is different but I would like to know when my belly will be back to semi normal and pain free. Thanks.

I am 4 weeks 5 days past my surgery and I have still have a tender belly and it is semi-swollen. i had to buy sundresses to go back to work in since i cannot stand the tightness or the rubbing of pants on my belly.

I felt the same way. I think it's pretty normal. Everyone is different. but I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and almost back to normal. Just last week I was still lying down in the evening with a bag of frozen peas on my belly. But I haven't had to use the ice for the last 3 days. Woohoo! It will get better. Recovery for this surgery is tough!
