Yep...its those little details that no one ever sees. I think that is why people see this as so easy and (ahem) painless..... Ha!

With daVinci hysterectomy, cauterization is used to seal as cuts as they are made, thereby eliminating the need for stitches. Stitches are only used for the cuff--and perhaps for the small external incisions. There really are not that many stitches.

Re: Davinci Surgery Commercial

I had no stitches at all, everything ont he inside was burned closed, and my incisions were glued.......for me it was much easier than a routine teeth cleaning at the dentist!!! lol Seriously....it was absolutley nothing to me. I never bled the first drop after surgery, and never felt a twinge of pain, nothing.

Easier than a teeth cleaning, huh? Lol. I wish I were so lucky. Everyone is very different though.

My teeth cleaning was brutal yesterday! Hygienist talked and couldn't talk and work and kept leaning on my hair and pulling and was just generally rough! I've had easier paps!

Re: Davinci Surgery Commercial

I'm very glad my doctor had realistic expectations of my recovery and hospital stay. He's the top in the area and told me to take my time recovering and explained everything to me. But you are right, what does this say to the public and employers when we are still recovering at 4 weeks.
Hope everyone has a healthy day!!!

Re: Davinci Surgery Commercial

I had a DVH/BSO my fibroids and uterus were very large so it was sliced and removed through the vagina. I did require a couple of stitches in the vagina. I am following all my directions and am slowly heeling. I am far from ready to return to work. I drove for the first time with a pillow to my bone density test today and then picked up some Thank you cards and a couple small items as not supposed to lift anything for 6 weeks. I was quite sore and tired when I returned home. We all heal differently and should be respected and allowed to do it right.
