Side effects and recovery time with keeping both ovaries?

I am nervous supposed to be getting to keep my ovaries . . .so wondering about side effects with keeping both and recovery time. Mine is scheduled for January 2011.

Hello! I had a TVH on November 26th and kept both of my ovaries. So far so good. They had trouble starting back up at first but now at 4 weeks post op I feel a lot better. After I got home (2 day stay) the menopausal symptoms started. Insomnia, night sweats, hot flashes, and cold chills. I took estrogen for about 2 or 3 days and it seemed to help. My doctor said it can take up to a month for them to wake up completely. I am feeling a lot better now. I hope this helps you a little bit.

My ovaries went to sleep from the shock of the surgery so I have the night sweats & hot flashes. They woke up in the 2nd month & have been fine since. I was a slow healer so all my restrictions at 6 weeks got extended to 8 weeks but after that I did well. Best wishes to you.
