confused,irritated,and kinda sad

i am in my 5th week and i am still suffering from night sweats, tired, and sooo itchy that even the benadryl isn't enough to get me a decent sleep. i don't know if my body is trying to ovolate or what is going on.How long this will last...it seems like forever. i have been craving sweets and now i seem more emotional. i kept my overies but had my cervix and uterus removed and am on effexor for deppression. i tried to contact my doctor but he won't bbe back in the office till next week which is when i have my first check up since the operation. i have tried gold bond powder, lotions, and beneadryl.i feel like i'm going crazy here...anyone have any idea how long this will last or what my body is doing? any support will be gratefull.my hubby is wonderful but my friends and family don't understand why it's taking me so long to recover......any way thanks for letting me babble thanks a bunch!

I hear ya!! I am still in pain too, my DR thinks more than I should be - ordered more test and put me back on pain meds! I have learned that everyone is different with his/her healing and why it is taken me longer to recover than another person; well there is no answer. My stiches itch, I am lucky if I sleep through the night without waking up and when I do wake up I am ususally having a nightmare or in a cold sweat. I sometimes get the feeling that my family and friends feel like I am just "milking" this a little bit - but believe me I am not! I just have to keep reminding myself that I will heal when my body is ready!! I have to rest and stay positive -- this web site sure does help and other sisters have been so kind with their words -- my adivce would be to hang tough!! Think of YOU and rest that body of yours as much as you can == go see your DR next week and see what they say -- until then remember you are not alone...

I am in my 5th week as well, and there is a reason the drs. say 6-8 weeks. I have noticed that now, I am extremely irratable, crying at the drop of a hat, and I think my boyfriend thinks that I should be "all well" now. I am not. Just last night, I was in soo much pain in back, right hip and leg, and felt like everything was falling out again. Guess I overdid it. It lasts differently for every woman i think, I am going stir crazy, but the more I do, the more fatigued I am. I am also on Celexa for depression, but that does nothing for hormones. I go back to the dr. on Mar. 13th, hopefully he will put me on HRT then.
