ONE and ONLY post op at 3 weeks??
Hi ladies I just got back from my 3 week post op from a davinci radical hyster.. I am healing great he put a little stuff on my cuff to help with spotting so that should clear up but I have a couple questions.
1. My Dr has given me clearance to bath again very happy as a nice soak will do wonders but is it normal i keep seeing on here 6 weeks??
2. This was my one and only post op visit he wont see me now until 3 months when I need my pap done for cancer. He told me to not have sex or lift until 6 weeks and after that I can do anything I want. I just find it strange and a little nerve wracking to have sex without being looked at first maybe I will call my reg ob for a check at 6 weeks???
any thoughts????`

Re: ONE and ONLY post op at 3 weeks??
It sounds pretty normal to me. My post op was at 5 weeks and I was told I don't need to go back for 2 months. I think they can tell how well we are healing and know what to look for. Also, if you have problems, you will surely call.
It is scary to kind of be "released" back into the real world but the body is an amazing healing machine. Just take it slow and don't overdo it.
Best wishes!

Re: ONE and ONLY post op at 3 weeks??
Hi...I'm 3wks po too. My doc said 8 wks on the bath. It take awhile for the cuff to heal. If he put stuff on it most likely its because of it not healing correctly. I honestly would wait to take a bath because its a high risk for infection. 3 weeks is to early if you have a vaginal cuff. I would get a second opinion on that!Take care sister. Karen

Re: ONE and ONLY post op at 3 weeks??
i'm not real sure what the "cuff" is but everyone i know has said they were told 6 wks post op before a bath.... i haven't been released for it yet, but i'm only 9 days out... IMO i would tell your dr your concerns and if they don't listen and talk to you about your concerns, i would def talk to your regular ob and tell them your fears/concerns as well....

Re: ONE and ONLY post op at 3 weeks??
he put some stuff on there to help slow the spotting for me apparently I had a reaction to the soap they clean you with down there before surgery and am having a lot of skin peeling and chafting and wearing a pad is KILLING me so he wants to get the spotting slowed down sooner than later

Re: ONE and ONLY post op at 3 weeks??
Actually my doctor told me I could bathe after two weeks, and I haven't had a single problem. No spotting, no pain, no infection. He even saw me at three weeks and said I was healing wonderfully. The only thing about a bath is it has to be just water, no bubble bath or soap in the water.

Re: ONE and ONLY post op at 3 weeks??
My doc was only going to check me once at 2 weeks. At my 2 week check there was a spot on my cuff that wasn't healing as well as the rest (granulation) so she had me come back in a week. At that check it was looking a lot better and the granulation was going away on its own. She had me come in again in another week which made it the 4 week mark. I was all healed with no granulation so she released me. I have taken advantage of being released and have had no problems. I liked that she checked me earlier as it catches problems such as granulation early, but I was also glad she checked me again before releasing me for activities. If you ask your doctor, I am sure they would have no problem checking you again to make sure all is healed well.

Re: ONE and ONLY post op at 3 weeks??
My dr did an internal at 3 wks and told me to take it easy, no sex, for another 3 wks and to come back in 6 months. I was surprised too. I will make an appt with my pcp as I see her often anyway for HBP meds.
