No Date: Question for those of you that kept Cervix?

I just found this site and am so happy that I did! I have to schedule my hyster soon and have a concern. My doctor has given me the option of keeping my cervix. I am really struggling with this decision. The reason I am struggling is because I have read that you can have a "mini period" monthly. I wanted to know from those of you that have kept your cervix... what constitutes a "mini period"? Is it enough where you need a tampon or is it just spotting? Do you get it every month or is it sporadic? I am doing this surgery to eliminate my period...

I had LSH and am 6 weeks post op. It is possible I had a mini period, not sure yet if that was really the case because it could have been surgical spotting. My dr. told me that if I do, it is panty liner level and usually only lasts a few days.

My sil actually has a piece of uterus left. She has light bleeding that is beyond spotting but not like a full blown period.

For me, there was nothing wrong with my cervix so I kept it. My dr cauterized the top of my cervix so it was less likely to ever bleed. I figured as long as I wasn't bleeding like before I could live with it. I have also heard that some women who do have miniperiods eventually have them stop.
