Stitching up a prolapsed Uterus? Lots of ????

Hi. I am very new to this site and I am really thankful for all of the postings! I just went to my PA because of this "thing" in my Vagina that feels like a Tampax falling out!! She said that my Uterus is Prolapsed and that I need to see the OBGYN and that he will probably stich it up. I do not want it stiched up, I want the darn thing out! I am 52, and have had horrendous periods for the last 12 years. They totally control my life. Since my Uterus prolapsed I have not had a period. Is this normal? As if this wasn't enough, now I have a horrible time with bowel movements as I am so afraid that my Uterus is going to fall completely out! AND THIS HOT FLASH STUFF IS FOR THE BIRDS!!! THANK GOD FOR CEILING FANS! I see the OBGYN on the 3rd of June and I need to know if it is my decision as far as a Hyserectomy or what to do if he insisits on stitching it back up. Thanks so much!

I am not a doctor, but that is why I had my hysterectomy. I had a TVH and kept ovaries. I am 34 years old. I would think they would suggest one for you too. I had 2nd stage prolapse and I had backache constantly. Good Luck to you, I hope they say lets get it out, I know how you feel.....
Best of luck at the GYN..

Ditto - had an hyst for this reason only. Any other of my symptoms I would have considered a more conservative approach and boy am I glad not to have that bumpy feeling anymore...all my reading suggested that any other approach is just putting off the inevitable.
