I AM APPROVED!!!!!!

I came to you guys last Friday, because I had just come from getting second opinion about my surgery and I was bummed out that I was having a hassle with the insurance company. I got a call from my doctor's office on Monday morning saying the surgery had been approved!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so relieved to know that the surgery is going to happen as scheduled. I had an appointment with my ob/gyn on Monday and she told me the hassle she had been through with the insurance company. She said she had documented 20 calls to them and could never get to speak with the physician that declined my case. Last Friday however, she finally got through to him and went over all of the tests and results and he said, "ok, with this new information I can now approve it." My doctor said, "This is the same information you have had in front of you all along!" He said, "Well...I am approving it now." Can you believe the unnecessary hassles myself, my doctor, her office staff, and also the doctor and office staff that did my second opinion had to go through just because the insurance company was hoping I/my doctor were going to back off. THIS MAKES ME SO ANGRY......It has caused me lots of days of worry and frustration. LeAnn....I want to thank you for your encouraging words and prayers. I hope you are doing well. Anyway, one week from today. I am sure this week will fly by. I am, of course, anxious; however, I will be so glad to get this surgery over with and get on with my life. I am having a tah and getting my bladder tacked back up. It will be great to be able to sneeze and cough and maybe even jump, without leaking (grins).

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I got approved last week also! My doctor's office actually screwed up and didn't send in the request until 6 days after my doc had written the note!! They should have sent it in on 1/4/01 and it wasn't sent in until 1/10/01! I don't know if it was the fact that I had e-mailed the HMO directly or if the referral person put something on the request but it was approved within 24 hours!!!

Then yesterday I got the phone call that the surgery had been scheduled!!! On my birthday!!! The funny thing is that the surgery is scheduled at 8:30 in the morning and I was offically born at 9:20 am!!

Way to go ladies! What a great birthday gift! I cant put into words what the surgery has done for me! My family is so excited to have me back it isnt funny. I guess I didnt relize just how bad it had gotten. I now am getting my engery back and am getting back into life! Hang in there it will be over before you know it! Would I do it again? In a heartbeat!
