Vaginal discharge 19 days post-SAH

Well, if you can't be open with your sisters, what's the point??

Okay, I'm post-op day 19. Recovery has been going pretty well, much better than expected actually. Now, I'm wondering what in the world is going on here??

All of a sudden I'm feeling crampy, and there's this UWS (unidentified white stuff) coming from my vagina. There's no odor, no itching, no blood...... just this UWS??

I was prepared for perhaps some stitches making their way south, maybe some brownish discharge, as I've read that's the course as they disolve, but this has me perplexed and wondering if it's cause for concern.

I don't want to freak and call the doctor on the weekend if this is "normal".......

Vaginal discharge 19 days post-SAH

Hi Radarlove8167,

I had a LSH and also kept my cervix. From being on Hyster Sisters, I have read that it is normal for cervix retaining ladies to have some spotting for up to 6 weeks post-op..and as you said..you have been anticipating.

I am nowhere near a Dr...and the white substance could be a mucus dicharge from the cervix. The cervix secretes a slightly cloudy to clear mucus that helps with vaginal lubrication.

You said there is no smell and no itching...and a yeast infection usually comes with those symptoms. A UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) can be common in post-op...and that usually has a burning sensation.

I say...don't worry too much. If it continues...I might suggest you put a call into your Dr. on Monday...just to play it safe.

Sending best wishes~

Mary
