Feeling better than I'd imagined.

Hello everyone out there. I was recently diagnosed with Complex hyperplasia with atypia, which was a huge shock. I'd had a couple of bleeds in August and September after 14months of nothing. As far I was concerned, I was post menopausal (53) and that was the end of that. I must add that I was lucky enough to miss any of the unpleasantness that accompanies. My GP referred me to see a wonderful gynaecologist who gave me this diagnosis after having performed a D and C at the end of August.

This lovely man was concerned because I did not have any of the risk factors associated ie being overweight, having high BP, have had kids, not diabetic and not taking Tamoxifen. The op was done on Monday 14th nearly 2 weeks ago, at 7 pm and all was fine. I have to say that I didn't sleep at all that night; compression boots, BP monitor, oxygen peg on finger, catheter and IV line made it nigh impossible. Not to mention the lovely nurses who came in every hour to check up on me.

Nevertheless on Tuesday morning I got out of bed and stood up and walked around the room and up and down the corridor. I must have overdone it during the day because I felt lousy on Wednesday and didn't go home till Thursday.

On Saturday night after Sabbath, I walked up the street but only managed to get past 5 or 6 houses and was glad to turn round and get home! It was quite pathetic because pre op I was walking up to anything between 5 to 10 miles every few days.

On Sunday I spent the whole day in bed doing nothing but watch the rain over spilling the gutters which had been fixed on Friday, I made the men cups of tea!

Monday one week, on I managed to walk to the top of the road and on Tuesday went back to get the results, which were all clear thank G-d. On Wednesday was already walking further and out to the shops. But of course on Thursday I felt sore and last night felt very 'windy'.

I have used very little pain relief because I really didn't need it. I think that having laparoscopic surgery is so much better when it comes to recovery. I have a little brushing but nothing else apart from that.

I am very bored at home and fed up with watching TV and checking FB! Friends have been great, but I told very few people. I am looking forward to getting back to school where I teach lovely girls, and seeing my colleagues. I'm also worried how much I will have to catch up with my students, when I return.

I so dearly wish that everyone would have as good an experience as I have had. I prayed to G-d during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the holiest days in our calendar, to grant me a complete recovery. I am so grateful He listened to my prayers.
