6 week post op doctor visit queston.....

I am entering my 5th week and am curious what happens during the 6 week post op visit with my doctor/surgeon. I haven't had any post op visits up to this point. He only wanted to see me at 6 weeks unless I had problems.

I've read somewhere to request a surgery report. Has any of you done that? What all is in the surgery report? Can I request that at my 6 week visit? How often will I have to go for follow-ups afterwards?

Just curious.

6 week post op doctor visit

I am curious as well, and I would like to know what to expect at this appointment. Did doc discuss returning to work at this point? My appointment is on Oct 30th.

I was given an internal exam. He was very gentle and it was painless, but I've heard others say it was a bit uncomfy. We talked about my surgery and how it went and what he saw again...discussed the lift of restrictions and what ones still remain. I was given premarin cream to put in my vagina a couple times a week until my ovaries are in full force again.

I too was given an internal exam. The dr was very gentle and it didn't hurt at all - which was surprising. He asked me if I had any problems or questions and then he advised me as to what I could and couldn't do at that point. Most all restrictions were lifted and I was able to continue with a normal lifestyle.

I too read about asking for the surgical report and I did. They gave it to me without a question. Mine states exactly what happened during the surgery and what they found. I also requested a copy of my pathology report - due to the fact that I was pre-cancerour prior to surgery.

As far as follow-up visits go - that depends upon your dr and what he requires. Mine saw me after 4 weeks and released me. Every one is different. Good luck girls - its not that bad.

thanks everyone for your input on the 6-week post op exam. Now I'll know kind of what to expect. I'm not nervous about it at all....just like to know ahead of time what to expect. I have some questions written down that I want to ask and write them down as I think of them. Like..."Do I still have a cervix?"

I'm interested in knowing if the surgery report will contain photos. I'd like to see some photos of what was wrong in there.

Does anyone remember that show that used to be on The Learning Channel called "The Operation"? What ever happened to that show? I'd like to see what takes place during a TAH/BSO. Anyone else interested?
