dVH/RALH Bowel Control post-op

I had my da Vinci yesterday morning and came home today. When I pass gas, I am actually having a bit of diarrhea. I've resorted to wearing a pad back there because I don't always make it to the bathroom!

I had MOM last night in the hospital along with Senokot there this morning. Nothing since. Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions?

Crewchief - I had that issue once when I took prune juice to help me with my bowels. I was totally shocked that it happened. From then on, I made sure I was in the bathroom when I needed to pass gas just in case if you know what I mean.

Oh I absolutely know what you mean. I'm doing that now. And keeping a pad in place, just in case! Gulp. I don't want to be constipated, but I sure don't like this either!!

To reassure you, my bowels are now back to normal at almost 4 months post-op. I haven't had to worry about that issue at all. I guess I should have mentioned that in my previous post.

Thanks! I'm glad it all settled back to normal. I'm hoping it is going to be stopping soon. It is wearing me out! LOL

7 weeks post op and since the op its made my IBS so much worse, everytime i eat i have to go to the bathroom so much so i bleed front and back when i go for a BM now

I have been able to pass gas a few times this morning WITHOUT the accompanying diarrhea. So I'm hopeful that it may be over. I did just eat breakfast, so we'll see!!
