Waiting for a new surgery date

Well I went through the bowl prep and fleet enema... Got to the hospital @ 12 pm the got me all ready iv and other things, and then my surgery was cancelled, now waiting for a new date and have to go through the bowl prep AGAIN

Why was it cancelled? I hope that doesnt happen to me cause I would give them a piece of my mind and then probably get kicked out of the hospital! lol!

OOOHHH I am so sorry. No only did you have to do the yucky stuff, but they canceled on you too. I would be p-oed big time. Were you given a good reason (like your doc was in a car wreck on the way to the hospital) or was it just some kind of stupid paperwork screw-up?

I am so sorry that happened. Why did they cancel it on you? That would have me boiling, and I'm sure hubby would get kicked out of the hospital even before I did. Sending positive thoughts your way!!

That is so crazy!!!I just had a dream the other night that this happened to me, and when I got there for the rescheduled surgery they put my hair in curlers and told me all of it was going to fall out!!!

I hope they get you rescheduled soon, and feel really bad that you have to do all the yucky stuff again.

I am so sorry that happened, why did it take so long before they realized that they had to cancel, I didn't have to do a bowel prep for mine but have had to do it for a colonoscopy and know how they are "YUCK", and they inserted the I.V. before they found out. You think they would of known that before they did all that stuff. Hopefully you don't have to wait very long before they rescedule you. I would of been devestated if that happened to me, thinking it was going to be done and over with and walking back out the door, just to have to wait all over again. How are you feeling about this??

Surgery was cancelled because the person in surgery before me ran into some complications, that cut into my OR time. I have been calling the doctors office but they don't have a date for me yet!!!!!

What a drag. Waiting is the hardest part, and to get all psyched like that and then have to "hurry up and wait" again is so awful.

I think people forget that scheduling surgery also depends on availability of OR's. Sounds like the OR's in your hospital are pretty booked up or they wouldn't have sent you home, and I bet your Dr's office is waiting to hear from the hospital. My hospital is so booked that my surgery date was scheduled 3 months ahead. I'm still waiting! Hope you get a date soon!
