Why am I having such thoughts???????????
Hi Hysistersister, I was just sitting and thinking and I have a few days left before my surgery day and I just started to feel so gloom I started thinking of all the what if's something happened. I just can not bare the thought of leaving my family I even told my DH that I was sorry for saying things like we are not going to be together anyways because all we seem to do is argue. That's when we get into arguements I seem to say what ever comes out of my mouth and I felt so bad today because I know that you have to be careful what you say because sometimes it can come true. my hubby look at me kinda funny when I told him I was sorry for saying those things so I hope I didn't get him all nervous to. I know other sisters may have had similar thoughts I just hope and pray that the peace God gave me will kick in soon. please say a for me Thanks

You're in my prayers hon! These things sound like you are just WAY Stressed out and nervous! Just try to relax (easier said than done I know) but try! He knows you love him and hopefully he knows somewhat the stress you are under right now! Everything will be fine and you'll do great!
Love & S

I will keep you in my prayers. I am pretty sure that most of us went through some kind of a weepy period before surgery. Just remember that we are here anytime...day or night. its almost over hon, keep your chin up. Keep us posted!!

I had my wors moments
the morning of surgery....I was a mess, terrified... then the anesthesiologist talked me into something I was a bit afraid about, a spinal... it eneded up being the greatest thing... no headaches, barely any pain...
back to the point.... I was SOOO scared I cried as I kissed my hubby goodbye and they pushed me to the OR
I was SURE I wasnt comming back, even tho they werent going to put me UNDER, I just knew it was going to go wrong....(until I had the drugs then my additude changed)
well it didnt go wrong, my dr and ALL the nurses in the hospital were a little wigged out by me...I wanted to get up and walk as soon as the spinal wore off...while I was laying there in the OR, I decided mind over matter, and I got my additude straight, maybe drug indused but it helped,
I came home the next day, no pain over a 3, and no pain meds after the 4th day!
My best advise to you hunny, is try(I know it is hard) to get yourself in a positive place, even if its at the VERY last minute
But I asure you its not as bad as it seems, and the waiting is the WORST part, and a positive attitude is the best thing, my dr even told me hes doing a study on additude and recovery, and people with a great additude do SOOO much better than the "wo es me" people
so buck up and at least tell yourself when thoes bad thoughts creap in, its gonna be a breeze and this will be so much better on the other side, because it really is, my pain emediatle post op"after the spinal wore off" was a 3 or 4 tops, now Im 2 1/2 weeks post and I have a little pain lower in my abdomen, about a .50 on the pain scale
OK sorry for rambling... Im done
GOOD LUCK
Sheri

You are in my thoughts and prayers, I felt the same way. Had 4 days to prepare for my TVH and do all the research to understand what would happen. Almost canceled on Monday, but am so glad I went forward, just to get it over with. Place your faith in your family, DR and nursing staff. If you place high expectations on others and yourself, people generally live up to them. Had spinal with no other sedation, was great, walking three hrs post op. Came home within 24 hrs of surgery with everything working. Most cases are uncomplicated, think positive thoughts and good luck

Hi Honesty
My surgery is not until 7/22 but wanted to let you know I just said a little prayer for you. Listen to the other ladies and their advice. Maybe go read all the positive posts of the post op women and how much better they feel now. I may have to come back and re-read this when I only have a few days left.
Anyway, I pray you will be calm, that your surgery will go smoothely and that you will wake up with minor pain and feeling better than ever.
Love and hugs,
Kristina
