Doesn't a Transvag ultrasound show this?

I have been having so much pain, I am wondering if I have endometriosis or lots of scar tissue from my ablation in 2005. My question is this--wouldn't this show up on a transvaginal ultrasound? Or am I thinking the ultrasound wouldn't show that?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I am scared that once they get a look it will turn into a TAH instead of just a davinci like I am scheduled for.

Re: Doesn't a Transvag ultrasound show this?

I had an MRI and it was the only thing that showed I had Adenomyosis. Might ask about the MRI

Re: Doesn't a Transvag ultrasound show this?

Endo does not show on anything. I asked my Dr at my six week check up why after all the tests I had done that nobody knew I had that (along with all the other stuff). He said they can suspect but the only way to confirm is laprascopically.

Re: Doesn't a Transvag ultrasound show this?

I had sonograms before a cyst surgery in 2007, and was told I had cysts and a fibroid. After the cyst surgery, they said I also had endometriosis.

Re: Doesn't a Transvag ultrasound show this?

I had an MRI, ultrasound, and a biopsy and none of them showed endo. I was scheduled for a TVH and once my Dr got in there he switched it to a LAVH because of the endo, and it was EVERYWHERE!! I asked my dr after surgery why he and the other 5 doctors I have seen in the past year hadnt caught this and he stated that they really cannot know for sure until they get in there. I know that isnt the answer you are looking for, but I send you prayers and wish you luck!!! Take care of yourself.

Re: Doesn't a Transvag ultrasound show this?

My lap ended up diagnosing me with extensive endo and the only thing that showed up on the transvaginal ultrasound (I had 4 or 5 of them in the years leading up to surgery) was my ovarian cyst which we knew was there from a previous CT scan. With the cyst we of course suspected endo but it was possible it was something else...but surgery & peritoneal biopsy confirmed. I have read on here that really dense adhesions sometimes show up on MRI and stuff though, usually not though. Best of luck to you hope you get your pain diagnosed & resolved!

That was the same with my transvag ultrasound. It showed a large cyst and fibroids. But found the bad endo when the hyst was done. No wonder I had been feeling so bad!!
