Anyone with Lupron experience?
This may not be the place to post this, but I'm having difficulty finding answers anywhere. I am currently on monthly Lupron shots to keep me in chemo induced menopause for hormone positive breast cancer. I would like to talk with others who have been on Lupron to share side effects. I have not found many others who are in the same situation. Many choose to have ovaries removed, however that is not the best option for me at this time.
Appreciate any thoughts.

Everyone's experience of Lupron is different, I'm afraid, and the drug is also prescribed for many different reasons.
The most common side-effects are hot flashes and night sweats, which one would expect really from an artificial, chemically-induced menopause. I also experienced aching joints and dry skin.
Under normal circumstances, Lupron is only given for a maximum of 6 months (although I have read of ladies being on it longer) as the biggest concern is loss of bone density.
I'm sure you've already discussed the best options for your situation with your medical provider, but I think it's important to know that Lupron is not something that's advisable to be used long-term.
I hope that helps a little and I'm sure some other ladies will be along soon to share.
Sending all good wishes!

Anyone with Lupron experience?
Hi Sassy!
Like Pooodle said, everyone reacts differently, but I had a lot of side effects while on Lupron, hot flashes, constantly needing to pee, body aches, and it hurt for a couple days at the injection site after each shot- I was on it 5 years ago, and have been on so many in between that I really can't remember them all now!!
But when my cousin was on Lupron she loved it! She truly had no side effects to speak of!!
Hopefully it works great for you!!!

Anyone with Lupron experience?
Thanks guys. Bone loss is a biggie for me as I am on Arimidex and Lupron. They are making sure to suck every bit of Estrogen out of me? I'm on Zometa to hopefully deal with bone loss.
I've developed quite a "belly" which I have been told both Arimidex and Lupron are responsible for. Anybody else have a Lupron "belly"?

Sassy1one,
Ditto the others, Lupron treats everyone different. I was on it several years ago for two months and hated it, hot flashes, couldn't seep, sore joints, on and on. Then Last year went on again for five months. I felt much better the second time with progesterone add-back. Worked well for my fibroids, they shrunk to about 1/3. As far as the belly goes, I don't recall the Lupron causing mine. I blamed mine on the fibroids. I didn't have a problem with bone loss.
I'm sorry you need to take Lupron but glad the DRs are helping you. I wish you success.
