6 months on & so much abdominal pain!

Hi Im 6 months on from TAV/BSO & altho at first I was recovering well, I seem to have steadily gone backwards. My abdomen is back to swollen & if I try ANY exercise, even just pulling my tummy in its agony! I cry myself to sleep with the pain most nights (& yes I do hide it from my hubby n kids!). Everyone at work assumes Im fine now & I feel such a fraud if I mention the pain! Its got to the stage where I dont know what to do with myself anymore. Have trouble getting to the docs as I work full time & I DARNT take any time off, as Im constantly being reminded of the 10 weeks I took after my op!!!! hope someone can help

Deb

Re: 6 months on & so much abdominal pain!

You need to take the time off for a visit with your doctor. To put it off will probably make things worse. Try to schedule your appointment around a lunch hour. Your doctor needs to find out what is causing the pain so that it can be dealt with.

Re: 6 months on & so much abdominal pain!

I'm so sorry you are having this pain - Have you been to your doctor? I wonder if it could be from adhesions? Please don't keep this just to yourself (and to us on here), it's a lot to hide from those you love - I hope you will see your doctor soon to find out what is causing this pain at this point so you can get back on the path to recovery. Best wishes.

Re: 6 months on & so much abdominal pain!

You really can't afford to put off seeing the doc if you are in this much pain. He needs to find out what is causing this. If you continue to push yourself, it is possible that it could get much worse and require a whole lot more time to recover. Believe me, I have been there. I also put off seeing my doc figuring it would get better and was worried about the job. Well I ended up in the hospital for one week and eventually lost my job.

Yikes!! Good luck. I know how stressful it can be to worry about a job. I will have my fingers crossed for you that everything is ok. Maybe your doc could see you after work? Try to explain your situation and I know my doc will often try to accomodate me.
