Same problem but a bit worse
I'm having a similar, if not more difficult problem with bleeding. This will be a bit of a long post as I'm at my wits end and would like to see if ANYONE out there has had this happen.
I'm 35 years old, one year and a month post-op, partial hysterectomy (left ovaries and cervix) due to fibroids. In September (Labor Day actually) of last year (05) I went to the emergency room because I was passing clots the size of my fist and bleeding heavily (NOT the normal period I should expect from the cervical lining) Had the attending doc and a on-call doc from my OBGYN practice look me over. Had an ultrasound and vag.ultrasound. Nothing was found. They recommended I make an appt. and go in to see my OBGYN who did the surgery. I did this the following week and my doc shrugged and said "let's hope it doesn't happen again."
End of October it happend again while I was out of town. I went in to see the doc again when I got back and also saw another doc in the practice (so, including the emergency room doc this is Doc#3) who ordered an ultrasound again.
About one week before Thanksgiving saw my original OBGYN again and she then said she thought it could be a blood vessel that just is refusing to heal. Her answer was to wait and see and hope it doesn't happen again.
Well, it's January 06 now and I'm not passing clots (fingers crossed) but am experiencing bleeding with intercourse and random red blood bleeding (not old, brown) since having my period over three weeks ago.
Theories so far have been:
Burst cyst on the ovaries (but why would this happen twice and how did the blood get through if my cervix is cauterized?)
Unhealed blood vessel
Fibroids within the cervical lining (negative)
Polyps in cerivix (negative from ultrasounds but surgery could prove otherwise)
So I'm stumped and so are the docs. I really do not want to spend another $35 to sit in a waiting room for an hour then have a doc shrug and say, "oh well - it's a puzzle to me!" I also don't want to start fresh with another doctor at another practice, although I realize that this might be my only option.
There are various other little details but I think those are the basics.
