Re: 8 weeks postop - new issues, worthy of trip to gyne?

Thank you for the reply Ronnic....family doctor stated the same. That surgery can be a trigger, or exacerbate prior symptoms. I believe I have been having symptoms for some time now, but they were all so random and seemingly unrelated. I had been avoiding the doctor and attributed most to getting older, or needing to lose some weight, or lifestyle. Putting them all together in a list was what clinched it for myself and the doc. I know you're still only a few weeks post-op but I would be interested to know if you find your recovery taking longer than expected with fibro and possible lupus. I can't think of any other reason I still feel like poop - although it does seem to be getting better...just slooooow. I went into this surgery sure I was going to kick butt and be back on my feet quicker than most women LOL. I guess karma got me :/ I don't find the anti-inflammatories he has put me on to be making a difference (unless they are the reason I seem to be feeling better maybe?). Anyhow, take care and speedy healing to you as well

I have been told by my docs, as well as per my own research, that both conditions can 'impede healing time'... I had back surgery 6 yrs ago, and my last child 3.5 yrs ago; I found that I did, in fact, heal slower from those, as to my 3 other births, and several other minor surgeries, prior. Since both illnesses are auto-immune and effect how the body fights infection, and even itself, it would stand to reason, that it takes fibro/lupus patients a little longer to heal.
