Ambien the night b4?

So tomorrow is my TAH and I am not as nervous as previously expected, but still a little on edge. I'm starting to wonder how in the heck I'm going to sleep through tonight. I do have a rx for ambien but have forgotten if I can take it the night before. Does anyone know from experience if I can or should I call the pharmacy?

Call the preop admissions nurse or your dr

I was told not to take anything the night before. I had to do the bowel prep that day. I could not even take a tylenol. May God be with you during your surgery and recovery! **HUGS**

I take Ambien as well, and I asked my doctor about my prescriptions and she said that Ambien was fine. The only ones she said that weren't fine were my muscle relaxers and Ibuprofen.

I hope you are recovering well after surgery. Did you end up taking the Ambien? My surgeon had said that I could take 1/2 the night before surgery and it did take the edge off.

Here I sit almost four hours post-op with my only complaint being pain ( I'm on morphine every three hours) and wanting something to eat/drink. I did take my normal dose of ambien the night before and the nurses were glad that I did. There is no way I would have been able to sleep without it. In the recovery room I was given a binder and love it, along with my tiny pillow, and these massaging leg cuffs
