Will amount of bleeding vary over the next 4-6 weeks post hysterectomy?

I am 6 days post-op. I did a good amount of walking, which my dr. Said would be fine (by good deal probably a mile a day and not all at one time) I had a great first 4 days and now the past 2 have been worse. Yesterday I had 0 energy, nausea, headache. Today I am taking it easy and the nausea and headache are gone but I am bleeding heavier and darker than the first 5 days (which was very minimal, got away with light days pads & a light pink color). I called the doctor and she said that it's normal to bleed for the first 4 to 6 weeks as long as I don't bleed through a pad in an hour. My tummy is much more tender than before but don't know that I would call it painful. My appetite is better today than yesterday. Thanks for any insight to this. You ladies ROCK!
