4 weeks post hysterectomy - insomnia

Hi it's been nearly 4 weeks since My abdominal hysterectomy and I'm so restless I have insomnia where I sleep during the day and can't sleep at night. This is not me. I can't wait to get back to work. Is there other people like me.

Re: 4 weeks post hysterectomy - insomnia

Im feeling the same way, i cant keep my eyes open by 2 pm, then I fall asleep at 8 pm only to wake up at 11pm and then I can't sleep.

I can't seem to get myself back into a normal sleep pattern.

Re: 4 weeks post hysterectomy - insomnia

I am almost three weeks post op and I am having similar problems. I can never get to sleep until 4 or 6 AM, and then I have to sleep until Noon to get a decent amount of sleep. It is very frustrating because I am trying to get some work done, but I have no energy.

Re: 4 weeks post hysterectomy - insomnia

Ditto. 11 days post-op and I can't sleep for more than half hour stretches at night. Even with Melatonin. And awful restless legs and can't stabilize my body temperature. I fall asleep from 6am-midday instead. Infuriating! apparently our ovaries may still be sleepy as they get used to reduced blood supply (uterus was main source before). Researching natural supplements to help ... Will let you know if they work.

I have the same thing, restless leg so bad at night and doc put me on estrogen patch, it has diminished but still having hard time falling asleep at night, wake up around 2 or 3, can't go back to sleep. i have not tried melatonin yet. i usually sleep on my tummy which I can't, so that's not helping
