Nightmares?

Hi! I'm 3 days post-op and last night had the most vivid nightmare! It's not really a problem because I am an adult and realize they were just dreams once I wake up... but I've had two more today each time I dosed off.

Think it's the meds? I'm taking oxycodone twice a day and motrin every 6 hours... haven't been eating anything outside the norm. The most recent one was very annoying because I'm still really tired... but couldn't get out of that twilight dream state and first it felt like there were people in the room, opened my eyes and no one there... then I thought my dog was laying under my leg, nope... then I thought a real big guy that I've never seen before sat down on the end of the couch and hugged my feet! That was it... time to get up!

Re: Nightmares?

I am glad you are taking this in stride. Drugs can cause nightmares and you might want to discuss this with your doctor. In the meantime, I am sending you in the hope you feel better.

Re: Nightmares?

I had the same problem post op. I was told it was merely an after effect of the anesthesia and should wear off in a week or two.

Re: Nightmares?

I had a couple of dreams that I forgot and put tampons in and freaked out when I remembered nothing in vagina! I was happy when I figured out it was only a dream

Stacie I had to LOL at this. Nightmares are never funny but while I was still in the hospital I would be in and out of sleep and having horrible gas pains and I thought we hadn't even done the surgery yet!! Was so relieved when I woke up and it was done! Meds can make you dream & think crazy things!

Re: Nightmares?

Welcome to narcotic pain killers and their side effects. I had crazy dreams while on narcotic pain killers. I was lucky and had little pain after a couple of days. The dreams stopped as soon as I was able to stop the narcotics.

I hope your dreams normalize soon. Meanwhile, hang in there, and hugs.

Re: Nightmares?

I didn't have nightmare but I did have erotic dreams...lots of them. I've been wanting to read "Fifty Shades of Gray" but decided to put it off due to the nature of the story.

Nightmares?

I'm 7 days post op. today I've noticed more pressure pain down low. I am peeing a lot more often today. However it doesn't hurt or burn when I pee. Just more of a constant pain pressure. Any suggestions.
