Sad/Mad Why?

I am 8 wks post op and I don't know what is wrong with me. My TAH was April 14 for fibroids/heavy bleading/anemia. I kept my ovaries. Physically I have had no complications and seem to be healing just fine. I have been back at work for two weeks.

I go back and forth all day long. Everything and everybody gets to me. I either want to break down and cry or kill somebody. Is anyone else where I am?

Sounds hormonal to me- Even though you still have your ovaries, they may just be having a hard time getting back to full function. Its tough to be so emotional huh? In my early weeks of recovery, everyone was sure I had gone off the deep end, as one minute I was laughing, and the very next second I was crying, and before I could reach for a tissue, I was yelling. Hang in there it does get better.....

Sounds hormonal to me, too. I have had some similar swings. I will be angry and not even know why, or easy to set off. My poor DH has been great at understanding! There are also the crying spells. I posted something about this in the hormone jungle and was encouraged by the responses from the other hystersisters there. I am only 3 weeks out but very hopeful about the longterm future.

Hang in there, and good luck to you!

Sad/Mad Why?

I don't know about others, but I actually feel as though I look at the whole world differently now. I don't have mood swings and actually feel really good most of the time. But, I don't know how to explain it...things that seemed so important or urgent before my surgery are just not that big of a deal now! And, I look at my co-workers in a different way too...it's almost as though I have landed in a foreign country and can't seem to get my bearings! It just doesn't make any sense! I guess our bodies are going through so many changes...I also feel that my mind is, too. It's a very confusing time. Hang in there and I hope things level out soon!

I have been chalking it up to hormones too, but I am just feeling so overwhelmed without any reason. Hormonal swings have never made me feel like this before. One minute I feel like I am headed for a straight jacket and the next I think it will be a jail cell because I put my hands around somebody's neck and just couldn't stop squeezing. I feel guilty because I read so many posts of sisters going through a rough time physically after surgery and I know it could be so much worse for me.
