Does wedge pillow help after davinci surgery?

My surgery is scheduled for July 2nd and want to get everything I might possibly need beforehand.

I know that many sisters on this site recommend a wedge pillow afterwards but it seems that most of them have abdominal surgery and not the DaVinci.

Is anyone planning on buying a wedge pillow and I wonder if it would make it easier to get out of bed/sofa/chair?

Although my hyst was TVH I had a davinci BSO. Really I had no need for special pillows or help getting up with either one. I'm not sure how I would have used them. But that's me, maybe someone else used them. Best wishes on your recovery.

countrycarole: I used a long pillow in bed for a week orso and that helped with getting comfortable enough to sleep. On the couch (where I spent most of the day) I used about four pillows (behind my back, under my knees, etc). No need to get special pillows, I think, after a daVinci procedure.

Thanks everyone for your input. I would rather not purchase the wedge pillow because I don't know what I would do with it afterwards.

I think I'll just buy a few extra "cheap" pillows to use.

I just got home today about noon after a DaVinci BSO yestesday at 2:30pm. Was wondering how I would be able to get up and into bed but just do it slowly. I did the old roll method until I cuold get my feet on the floor. I don't see how pillows would have helped me because I would have to have moved them first!

I cannot wait until my surgery is over and I'm back home too.

I just used a few extra regular pillows. No need for a special one.
