In Hell w/Vaginitis

I'm 1 yr. anniv. had to go off Estrogen due to Endo flare-ups. Using progesterone cream & herbal/vitamin regimen. My BIGGEST problem now is the vaginitis, when I would use estriol cream it would give me yeast(always been prone to yeast infections) dr. feels that estrogen will feed the yeast, so went off it. I use alot of lube w/sex, but afterwards I die w/itch still. I'm thin & dry externally. I'm seeing my dr. in April for some new ideas to keep it healthy

Any ideas please?????

Denise

In Hell w/Vaginitis

I use testosterone cream in my vaginal area. This seems to keep me well lubricated. I had previously thought about the estring but the testosterone does the job nicely so far. I hope this helps.

vaginal - HELL

Hi, I am in the same boat as you. I tried the estring and had continuous yeast infection. Now was told to use Replens. Not really helping. If you get any good suggestions from your Dr. please pass along.

Thoughts are with you in that Vaginal HELL.

Is there hope?

Thank's for the reply's! It's good to know I'm not alone in the vicious cycle. After doing some research, too much estrogen feeds the yeast & not enough could bring on yeast. I will pass along any new relief info when I see my Dr. in a few weeks. She's a guru of the yeast & vaginitis. SHe has helped me in the past but, now since I'm menopausal it brought on a new problem.

Does anyone have these specific symptoms???

thinining, pale skin w/tiny papercuts
extreme itching(especially after sex)
Peeling skin(like a sunburn)
sometimes a funky pastelike discharge

Hope to hear from you girls!

In Hell w/Vaginitis

I'm am right there with you guys!!!!! My friends mom had a hysterectomy 30 years ago and has been fighting vaginitis ever since. Now - the lining inside is worn out and raw from using different creams for so many years!! She did some research on natural healing and they said natural aloe would work!! I worry about that in years to come. I also heard there are vagina specialists who deal with this. I just went off hrt's about two weeks ago and am on 2nd yeast infection!! Will let you know if I find anything else out.

still in vaginal hell 3 yrs later

Help!!!! I have been battling this problem for 3 yrs, and still nowhere. I have been with my current dr. for 1 yr. and she has not given up. I have the symptoms you describe exactly, expect no itching. The rawness, little tiny cuts and sometimes sticky discharge. It appears my vaginal tissue needs estrogen, and any form of estrogen makes it much worse which is the mystery. I have tried vagifem, the ring, tablets, topical cream, testostrone, aloe, everything!!!!!! The compounding pharmacy has even given up. I even went to an infectious disease dr. who cultured everything & found nothing. When I was on estrogen, this presented like it was yeast, which it wasn't. I am currently on Metrogel vag. cream every other night for 3 wks. and then see the dr. Her thought is to try and get my vaginal ph more normal and see if I can tolerate a low dose of estrogen cream. I am so frustrated, depressed and fed up with being vaginally uncomfortable all of the time. When I read the post about the woman who has battled this 30yrs, I about flipped out!!! I am also using Lidocane gel which is numbing, but not really correcting the problem. I will let you know if anything we are trying actually works. I try to remain positive, but it is getting more difficult as time goes on................TF
P.S. Who are the vagina specialists? I have definitley been considering that as a resource at this point....

Also, has anyone tried progesterone!!! I got some, not sure if I want to try it.
