worried about libido after and weight gain

I have surgery scheduled for Dec 9th and second guessing everything. I am really worried about my sex life after, if I will have the same libido I do now. My ovaries are being left, and am not going through menopause at all yet.
Another worry is weight gain. Some sites have women talking about all the weight they've gained. I try not to obsess over it, but work out very hard and watch what I eat. I DO NOT want to gain weight.
OK, so lastly...I am now concerned because they plan to take my cervix out as well. I am wondering why, and thinking I might like to keep it...
So....anyone have any comments in regards to any of the three above mentioned? I welcome any and all suggestions and comments.

I had the laparoscopic daVinci procedure on May 19 and can tell you that the weight gain did not happen and that the libido is definitely better than ever! I have lost weight since the surgery because I feel much better! I can exercise more now and don't gain so much each month any more. It did take a good eleven weeks before anything happened with weight loss (and before the swelly belly goes away). My libido came back strong. Again, it did take about 12 weeks. The doctor did not give the ok for intimacy until 8 weeks post op. Had to take it slow but once I knew that everything was in working order it only improved. Good luck!

Thanks, its really helpful to hear good things. So many "anti" hysterectomy sites with people having nothing but horror stories. I am so glad I found the hystersisters site!! I am working out like a mad woman and trying to take extra good care of myself, so that I can recover quickly and get back to my life without the 2 1/2 weeks of pain every single month. December is still a ways away....glad to hear the good things! Maybe some of the anxiety will go away by then...

Just wanted to let you know that as I approach the 3 month mark, I haven't gained any weight and my libido is just fine!

My husband says he doesn't feel any difference with my cervix gone and I don't notice any reduction in the big o either.

I am so happy to have my life back with my uterus & cervix gone!
