Freaking out!!

Hi Ladies,

I just need to vent a bit before I start to lose it. My surgery is on friday and I just found out tonight that the buses in Ottawa are going on strike starting at midnight. I'm ok to get home tomorrow morning cause the hospital ( my workplace) paying my taxi to get home.

I met a hystersister on here and she's from my hometown, we met last week and she's very sweet. She's offered me a ride to the castle friday morning so that I"m not stuck. Originally I was going to call a cab but I"m paranoid it might not show up or be extremely late since a lot of people will be depending on them to get to work friday morning.

I'm sadened because my bf was supposed to go with me to the hospital but since he takes the bus as well, he can't go with me cause he would need to come back home to take care of the dogs. So instead he's going to try and get his shift back at work and come and see me in the evening only, when my brother comes back from Borden for the weekend.

My mom said she would come with me and stay at the hospital all day, even while I'm in surgery, so my hyster friend agreed to pick her up on our way to the hospital friday.

Am I just over reacting? I know I have a ride, but I keep wondering if something will go wrong. My bf won't be there with me, I know my mom will be there but still wish my bf could have been there too. Not blaming him cause it's not his fault the buses are striking. Just really upset and annoyed at the whole situation. Then there's the thought, what if my surgery is cancelled cause they don't have enough nursing staff for the surgery? Ugh God I hate stressing out like this!

It's okay to stress, you are so close, and once you get this close it is scarey to think something could change the date.

Dont dwell on the details. If you have a reliable ride, relax! And since your mom can be there for you, you have your advocate to speak for you while at the castle if need be!

Try to just imagine yourself recovering, healing and moving on to a wonderful new healthy beginning! Your bf will be waiting with arms wide open when you get home!

Wishing you a speedy recovery!
xoxo

I can understand why you're stressed. I would be too, I think

It's so nice that you have family and friends that are willing to help. I'm sure that your bf will be there whenever he can.

Best wishes. I will pray that everything goes smoothly for you.

Freaking out!!

My big day is on Friday as well and I am getting a bit nervous as well.

Just thinking that today is my last full day for awhile makes me want to either go crazy with my to do list or hide in bed. Tomorrow I start the bowl prep, oh the horrors, and than Friday is the first day of the rest of my life!!

But the mind is going wild and playing tricks on me too.

Hugs!

Ugh! Glad to know I'm not the only one thinking the worse of the worse for everything. Everyone around me is telling me to relax before I make myself sick, but I don't know how to stop my mind from wandering. There's only so much I can do today to keep myself busy before I start to think and worry again I can't wait for all of this to be over! I'm at the point, I think I'm going to start crying soon! Is this a normal reaction before surgery??

Hello Steph - Everything you are going through is normal. Crying anxiety etc. I have 5 weeks to go and am great one day and freaking the next. Pray to whomever to help keep you in check It does work. Keep busy or sleep and rest, whatever you think is best for you. If you need to cry, cry. That is a stress reliever. Just know we are all with you. Best of luck.

Freaking out!!

Steph,

We are SSOO close. Don't panic. I heard this morning that we might have rain mixed with snow tomorrow -- IN ALABAMA -- and then my DH called me. He was on his way to the hospital to check on his mom, who had a massive stroke 10 years ago, because she was having slurred speech this morning. Everything is fine with her and the snow....... supposed to be in south alabama. so you see, things have a way of working out. I am glad that you found a hystersister in your town who can help you out. I am also envious that your mom will be with you, my mom has been told by her doctors not to go into any hospitals or nursing homes or wherever anyone might be sick b/c she has weak lungs due to radiation treatment for breast cancer. So I am really hoping that I come home on Saturday so she can come over.

Take care Steph, I will be going in at 5 for surgery at 7 but 9 I should be a new woman. What have you found out on times?

Praying that you will find some peace until your trip to the castle!

Hey Wacky!,

Glad to hear from you I know we are so close! I'm really excited and nervous at the same time, last night before we head to the castle in the morning! Someone on our floor is making eggs and toast and I can just smell it in our apartment, I'm so hungry! But I'm not allowed any food except jello ( which in my opinion is not a food group! :P ) and broth, yuck! I so want a coffee right now but I can't have cream in it ( I don't like black coffee) ugh! last night's dinner seems so far away :S and I have to do a bowel prep tonight on top of it all, wow not the best of days over here for me

Take care Wacky, hope your surgery goes smoothly and looking forward to seeing you on the other side!
