Bleeding after sex...

August 22nd put me 5 months out from my hysterectomy and I assumed all was healed. After sex with my husband this morning I began bleeding--what seemed like a lot. Where on earth could the blood come from unless the cuff ruptured??? Has this happened to any of you this far out?

After a repair in feb, I have been so sore that I couldn't think of sex, but I put in a tampon to see what was going on in there - well, it came out with blood on, so there is obviously a an area that is still not properly healed. Maybe this is that with you? I would think if the cuff had ruptured, you would have ahd a lot of blood and a lot of pain...

Thanks for replying, scriv. It just didn't feel "right" this morning. I know I've been having bladder spasms, a yellow vaginal discharge (no odor) and significant pain the last few days upon having to have a bm, but that wouldn't cause vaginal bleeding I wouldn't think.

I wonder if you have an infection somewhere? You might want to call the Dr and see what he thinks. I agree though, I think if the Cuff ruptured or something, the pain and blood would be much worse. That hurts just thinking about it.
I tell ya, our bodies are strange, seems like the smallest detour in the road causes us such problems..... my biggest gripe is I cant hold my pee for nothing anymore. When I have to go, I have to go..... reminds me of that commercial... 'gotta go, gotta go, gotta right now'.

Thank you Lisa. I did call my doc and he said as long as the bleeding stops, or least subsides, it's not an emergency and to come in to his office on Monday so he can check things out. He said it sounds like it may be granulation tissue.
