To all the hyster sister THANK YOU and have to say that finding this site has been unreal to me. My story starts in March when my dr told me that my pap smear was abnormal. Then the craziness began. Went to see my gyn and was told first day cant see ya due to fact got my period but will when you are done so I went was told need to re due pap due to fact my dr didnt do the HPV screening. So when I was finally able to do it my dr also took some tissue at same time. Never felt him do it just thought was having pap -- Well good thing he did was called a few days later and was told I needed the leep procedure done. Went in on April 7 th 2009 and on April 9th 2009 at 1:15 the dr called me saying how very sorry he was but that the one thing we didnt want to find we did--I HAVE CERVICAL CANCER. Then my dr gave me some refurrals and off I was to see the surgans. On April 13th was able to get in and was told that I must have a hystorectomy. My life as not been the same sence. I was so scared that I made a surgery date had a pet scan and then a ct scan due to the fact that they found a shadow on my pancreas. Then My surgan was off to africa for 2 weeks and was due back the saturday b4 i was to have mine. I talk my results over with someone I had never met then I remembered my daughter was graduating from highschool. so I postponed it. and have to say for not seeing a doctor he gave me the best advice. He reminded me that this is major surgery and that we always tell people to have there ducks in a row..and said your ducks wont be in a row until you party with your daughter for her big day. I still have so many questions for my dr I also did find out I am at the low stages of cervical cancer and I asked him If I was his daughter what would you tell her to do. I also wanted to make sure my dr didnt come back with something funky form africa. So I will be seeing him on May 21st finally thanks again for such a great site it has helped me so very much thanks again you all rock
