Question about size of uterus
I got a copy of my pathology report from the doctor's office and need a little help interpreting it. It says that my uterus was 11.5 x 9 x 7 cm. Where does this fall on the "size radar"? Normal, grapefruit, melon, 3-weeks pregnant, etc.?
It also states that the endometrium had a "secretory pattern" (?). There was also tissue removed labeled "endometriosis anterior cul-de-sac".

Re: Question about size of uterus
Did they give a weigh for your uterus? My dr said a normal one for someone my age, 53, is about 65 grams. Mine was 395 grams and 13x9.5x7.7cm. Normal size is supposed to be like pear sized. Don't have a clue about the endo issue.

Re: Question about size of uterus
Mine was 170 grams, had 2 full-term deliveries (hope this is OK to say) prior to surgery.

Re: Question about size of uterus
Then you clearly seemed to have had a larger than average uterus which a lot of us seem to have had. In the final diagnosis part of you pathology report it might say adenomyosis--I don't know if that's a term for every enlarged uterus but it describes some kinds. Your doctor should be better able to interpret this for you. Will you be seeing him/her soon?? I also started to google every term I didn't understand on mine to try to figure things out. Maybe others with medical backgrounds have a better understanding of these things.
