Re: 4 days post op and burning sensation

i had stitches and mine incision did burn and sting some....i am sure other sisters here who have had staples will post soon....ice on the incision can help with that....just be sure to the incision dry....use an icepack with a cover on it....

Signs of infection would be worsening stinging and pain, red and warm to the touch, possible oozing and odd smell, running a temp of 100 or more...

Hang in there...better days are coming!

Re: 4 days post op and burning sensation

I had surgery on Wednesday. I'm not sure what the correct acronym is but I had an abdominal incision with my left ovary removed, right ovary and cervix intact. My doctor also cut my right urethra while trying to remove a fibroid the size of a basketball. An urologist had to be called in to reconnect my urethra to my bladder. So, I was not able to go home until today. I have my catheter for at least 10 days and had a separate drain from my abdomen that was removed yesterday. I feel some discomfort from my staples on the right side, but don't know whether it is from the extra surgery on my bladder, the catheter or the staples. I was also told to look for redness near the staples or fever over 100.4 as signs of infection.

I'm so happy to be home and wishing all my sister princesses lots rest and speedy recoveries.

Re: 4 days post op and burning sensation

I had a TAH on 7/22 and I was fine earlier today but tonight I keep getting a burning pain. I have had DH check like 5 times and he insists everything is OK.
