5 weeks post-hysterectomy: out of breath with exercise

I had my TAH on 5/15/14. A couple of weeks ago, I started walking on my block (cul-de-sac). OMG, this is killer! 5 minutes feels like 30 and I am always out of breath by the time I get to the end of the street! Has anyone else experienced this at 5 weeks post- op?

Re: 5 weeks post-hysterectomy: out of breath with exercise

Steffie, just keep gradually adding on a little bit a time. You'll have to build up your endurance. Don't try to do it all at once. Walk a little, stop for a bit, walk a little, stop and so forth until you get back to where you started. It's a process and it takes time.

If you are out of breath more frequently than not, I would give the doctor a call and explain what is going on and see what he/she says

in there

Thank you for the advice. I walked much more slowly this morning.

I also think that it's this Georgia heat and humidity.
