I can not take it any more

I hope you get everything sorted at your doctor's.

Before my surgery, I was going through menopause...and had all of the symptoms that you are now having.

I talked with my doctor who recommended I take Remefemin. It's an herb (Black Cohosh) that is sold OTC. If you're not allergic to it - it does help with the hot flashes and night sweats. I also added soy to give a little extra ooomph to help me feel better and that worked.

There are so many different things that can be taken OTC if your doctor wants you to wait. The Hormone Jungle here may have other suggestions to help with the mood swings.

I do hope you find relief soon.

Right there with you

Hi TRM,
I feel your pain. I also still have my ovaries. At 3 weeks post op nothing but crying, feeling depressed and no energy. Oh and feeling so lonely. Went to the Dr. ran blood work, urine and testing hormone levels. We'll see what the results are. But the Dr. did say, this is so very common. Your ovaries go into a bit of shock, and your stress hormone level drops off, after all we are the care givers (wonderwoman)and its so difficult to keep from doing what we need or want to do. Remember you went through major surgery! I'm at 4 weeks today and my feelings are of " Don't xxx mess with me" and crying cause my DH is a jerk.

Hang in there TRM, and remember to check with your DR. You may just might need a jump start.
I had Chocolate chip cookies when crying and now tootsie roll pops, (so I won't say anything I don't mean) tee hee

You know what I did the same thing last night. I got mad at my boyfriend who I live with. I got into my car and left. I went to my moms crying telling her I'm losing my mind and I can't take it any more.

TRM and JARHEADLADY...I know what your going through please hang in there-just the other day I started thinking what a good job my dh was doing with the kids and they would be better off without me. It's a lie and its not true we just need to hang on as long as possible-there is too much out there for us not to get some relief. I have an easier time having patience with this for a different reason-look under aching hearts and read my post titled my dream and you'll understand. Many hugs and prayers to you both-Karey

Can't you ladies with these awful issues get your doctors to do something to relieve you, TEMPORARILY?!?!? Jeez, if the ****ed doctors were having these sorts of symptoms, for as long as y'all have had them, do you think they'd wait to give themselves some relief? Think again!

Could estrogen/HRT help kick-start your ovaries again? Or can your doctors at least prescribe some anti-depressants and sleep aids? They are, after all, supposed to be there to HELP YOU!

On the homeopathic side, I had good luck pre-surgery with evening primrose oil for hot flashes and St. John's wort for depression. Both are readily and inexpensively available OTC at WalMart and any other place you can imagine. Sure helped me.

{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}to all of you who are suffering like this. And give your doctors a swift kick in the stones if they don't get off their duffs and help you feel better. This is NOT necessary!

{And this is NOT medical advice!}

Good luck to you all. I'm not getting any of that yet, except the mood swings, but I'm attributing that to cabin fever.
I feel so bad for you. Depression can be miserable. Go to the Dr., do whatever you have to do to make yourself feel better.
God bless and we're thinking of you.

I can not take it any more

Hello- I had my surgery on Aug 1 due to endometrial cancer, so I can't have hormones. The sweats started and the emotional rollercoaster began. I had a post op appt and my dr percribed Effexor xr and within a week I was gold. NO more sweaty palms, feet, neck, or weepy moments. I works for me....thank goodness.
