Sudden Bleeding??
Ok, it's now 1:00 am. I tried going to bed hours ago, been reading for the last 2. Felt tired, couldn't sleep.......what is up with this?
Anyway, I was sitting here reading when I noticed I had started bleeding. I am now 12-13 days post op (TLH/BSO)and have had NO bleeding or discharge since the surgery. I didn't do much today. Was watch TV this evening and felt some strange pains.......they weren't awful or anything......a little strange feeling, like tightness or pulling, inside. Took Ibuprofen before trying to go to bed..............
It's not a huge amount of blood, but it is bright red. I'm monitoring it...........just not sure if this is cause for concern or not..........anyone know? I'm a little scared.
Thanks,
Christine

Sudden Bleeding??
Bright red is not good. Does your dr have an after hour number you can call or maybe call the er and ask what to do. They may say wait til moring, but better safe than sorry.
GOOD LUCK

Sudden Bleeding??
I figured at this point if I had any "bleeding" it would be minimal, more like spotting, and wouldn't be bright red.......I was going to try to give it til morning and see how it goes........it's not really heavy, but much more than spotting.
Not sure what to do............
Thanks!
Christine

Sudden Bleeding??
I've had that for several days and have spoken with my doctor about it. Myself, I'm on blood thinners for a PE, and he said that I've specifically been overdoing it, physically (I've been back at work since the 22nd). He's not worried I popped anything though, and will see me in a week.
Best to get your own advice from your own physician though.

Sudden Bleeding??
Hi Christine,
I have experienced exactly the same thing. I had LAVH on October 21 and started bleeding 2 days ago (bright red like you, not heavy but definitely not light enough to call spotting). I will call the doctor later today but I have been assuming it was all part of the normal recovery process.
I will be thinking of you and hope all is well.

Sudden Bleeding??
Hi Christine
A lot of women have some bleeding start at about 2 weeks. It can be caused when the stitches begin to dissolve. As long as it's not heavy you are probably fine. It never hurts to call and ask your dr about it either.
Take it easy and see how it does.
's, Rita

Sudden Bleeding??
If it gets heavy please go to the ER. It is probably normal but if it is a pad an hour go in. Good luck.

Sudden Bleeding??
A little spotting is pretty normal at this point. I was like you, nothing in the first couple of weeks. Right at my week four mark I started spotting and unfortuneatly I ended up back in hospital on Wednesday with a burst haematoma. It was here that I was given a guideline regarding bleeding. Both the ER doc and the gyno said one pad an hour for three hours is a trip straight to the emergency room. When I had the haematoma, I went through 2 pads in 45 minutes and the blood was literally dripping out of me - like a nosebleed.
Those are the instructions from my doctors. Hope this puts your mind at ease!

Sudden Bleeding??
I started bleeding a little on day 10, I assumed it was the stitches dissolving. The next morning I got up and was bleeding heavily, it was just running down my legs. (sorry if TMI)
I called my Dr and she told me to come and see her. She did an internal (ouch!) and said she couldn't find any blood clots or hematomas. She gave me two antibiotics and told me to not to worrry(!) and go home and rest. It gradually got less and less and I think it stopped totally about two weeks later.
As everyone has said, go and see your Dr and get it checked out.
