6 week check up still no sex

I had my last check up with my doc today at almost 7 weeks and all looks good. My vag. cuff is healed, no stitches remaining. I do have what he classified as a paper cut type tear at the bottom of the vag. opening that more than likely happened during bending or squatting. He gave me estrogen cream to apply to the site for a while to see if it will heal it. He said yes I'm healed but still tender so no sex for 2 more weeks. I'm ok with that and even thought about going 12 but not sure my hubby could make it. He has been great though and I'm thankful for that.

I have Interstital cystitis (thinning of the lining of the bladder - acidic foods/drinks hurt, pee a lot and bladder spasms) and have been having some not so fun problems with my bladder since surgery. The good news is that the last 2 days have been much better and after talking with my doc today, he thinks all the problems have been related to bladder being messed with during hysterectomy and that I should begin to improve without having to see a urologist for the IC. My IC has always been pretty calm except right before my cycle so now that that's gone, hopefully I will continue to do well. But, he did go ahead and give me a new med for over-active bladder to see if it would help quiet things. It's a gel that you rub on your body on your stomach, arms or legs - rotate sites to prevent a reaction - and only one dose a day. It's called Gelnique - anyone tried it? I also put a post in the bladder forum as well. I'm anxious to see if it works or not.

Thanks to everyone for being so kind and answering concerns over the past 7 weeks. I plan to hang around and I hope I've helped others as well!

Kim
