Re: Anyone else have numb leg post op?

Do you have reflex in your knee?

Mine felt numb from behind knee up into my inner thigh. I could lift it, but it was an effort - had to think about it. Like if I was getting in a car, I almost wanted to manually lift it in. It was the most unexpected thing. I literally thought I was going to have this life long sort of bum leg. But I kept just walking. Stretching. Massaging it (after they ruled out blood clot). I don't know if that helped or not. And it got SO much better right after the EMG. Don't know if all those little shocks stimulated something.

Again...like I said it was basically back to 100% by 4-5 weeks. Everyday I'd check for that **** reflex to come back. Never so happy when I saw my knee jerk again!

Re: Anyone else have numb leg post op?

I had numbness around my right hip for about a month after surgery. I am now 8 weeks post-op and my hip and right knee still bother me. I am hoping this will also eventually go away. I can no longer sit with my legs crossed comfortably or with my right leg tucked up under me.

Re: Anyone else have numb leg post op?

Had my 2 week today and asked doc about numbness. She said it may be from my leg being in the stirrup for the surgery. She said it should go away....I sure hope so!

Re: Anyone else have numb leg post op?

I was told it was from the position in the stirrups and should go away eventually.

I have numvness in both my thighs but gradually my left thigh has gone away except for a section up by my hip. My right thigh is still numb, my doctor said it should gradually go away.
