Anyone else going to be in the hospital for New Year's Eve?

Yes, that right. My doctor scheduled me for December 30, meaning I will be in the hospital on New Year's Eve. My insurance is changing next year. It is 100% covered this year, but will be 80/20 next year so I opted to get it done now. That was the only time she could "work" me in. My poor hubby will be home all alone on New Year's with 3 kids! Anyone else want to share in my pitty party?

((( Melanie )))

I'll have to admit that that doesn't sound like a lot of fun for a New Year's Eve party. On the other hand, it should save you enough money that you can celebrate after your recovery And you have time to plan it now, while you're waiting.

Best wishes.

Anyone else going to be in the hospital for New Year's Eve?

Hi!
My date was 12/30/02.We are not party people, so doing something on New Years Eve was not an issue. I was just so happy to get a date before the end of the year. It was an added benefit to start a new year out on a "feeling better" note. The days in the castle were a blur to dh and I. The dd's were just happy to have me home on 1/2/03, then they took care of me while on Christmas break. If your dk's are older, maybe you could arrange friends to take them for a sleepover. Good luck!

oh, major bummer!
Even if you like to celebrate at home, rather than go out to a big party, NYE can be such fun.

what a pity you are going to be in the hospital.

Try to stay focussed on how much you want to get the surgery out of the way --- and plan a SPECIAL CELEBRATION for when you are up to it!!!! your kids might get a kick out of planning for a second NYE party!

best wishes!

Anyone else going to be in the hospital for New Year's Eve?

Unfortunately, my kids are 2, 3, and 6 so only one would be ready for a sleepover. I'm hoping my in-laws will come and help my husband out. I don't mind missing a party, it's just really depressing to think of "electing" to be in the hospital on New Year's Eve. I'm just glad that I will get to spend a great Christmas with my kids first. Thanks for the fireworks! Oh, and yes, I am going in on Dec. 30 for the surgery, but it's a TAH, so it's a two night stay. I will get to go home on New Year's Day. My cousin said to think of it as a bright beginning to 2004.
