a scary new mass

I hope all is well I had a mass appear on an Ultrasound 12 weeks Post-Op....my Dr being unclear to its nature scheduled me for a Lap. The mass turned out to be Scar Tissue that had formed atop the Ovary & had adherred it to my Vaginal cuff!

I'm praying that yours was something similar I'll be looking out for your post with an update when your feeling better

Hi everyone here, I'm home from the hospital. I have cancer, not scar tissue. My gyn/onc is positive he can cure me and I will be fine. He tells me not to worry. I amgoing to have radiation, most likely, and maybe alittle local chemo to knock out further the weakened cells. We don't have the path results yet which will help determine what to use. I originally had a hyst. after a fibroid removed had some iffy cells that weren't yet cancer. At the time the ovaries, tubes and abdomen were clear, with the only abnormal cells found locally in the uterus where the fibroid had been attached. My regular ob/gyn is beside himself that this ha s happened when I was all clear at one year post op, and the official report from MD Andersn was that it was local in the uterus and never cancer.
I had a long surgery to remove the lump. My gyn/onc said it isbest to remove the mass and then radiate because it is easier to radiate a thin layer to kill it.
I'm doing well post op and my husband and friends are being very helpful. I plan to read everything here, post from now on over on the cancer page, and to hold to my gyn/onc's words.

Glad you came through the surgery and have a caring doctor to complete whatever treatment is necessary.

Do remember that your sisters are here with an always present ear and a shoulder if you need us.

It is great news that you have such a caring doctor, and one who's ready to do all that is required to see you through this. And it's great that your family is there for you

Please know that your hyster sisters are there for you. Do remember your training and rest as much as possible. Walk for recovery and drink water as directed.
