Bowel cleansing before lap on Aug. 12

Hi ladies,

I know this a pre op board for hysterectomies,but I thought if anyone would know you ladies would. I have to have a lap before any other surgery can be done since it is a new gyn. Anyway, at my pre op appt. with the dr, he said he wanted me to cleanse my bowel before the lap.

The appointment was about a month ago. He did not say wheather to do the enemas all in the same day until just clear stuff comes or do I do it over a couple days. Does anyone know?

Sorry to be so graphic. My lap is August 12 any advice would be most helpful.

Hi Rebecca. Welcome to HysterSisters. You've come to the right place.

Bowel prep is a usual thing for us ladies around here. You should probably call your doc's office to see exactly what he/she prefers you do. But it will probably be doing one enema or taking Ducolax.

Good luck on your lap on the 12th. I'll be praying for you!

Definitely call your doctor to verify but bowel preps - OH JOY! - are usually done the day before.
