Surgery Prep Instructions

Hi Ladies,
I got my instructions in the mail today, and I have dumb question. It says no asprin, NSAIDS's and in parenthesis it says Advil, Ibuprofen for seven days prior to surgery. Does Tylenol fall in this catagory too? I'm going to have my period that week and can't imagine going without ANYTHING at all for the pain. Heck, I don't think I've gotten through a whole day without somthing for many months.

My doctor told me Tylenol was fine but no Advil, Alleve or aspirin. Good luck with your surgery.

They allow Tylenol! I just had my pre op on Friday & its the only one they told me I could take!

Is that because they are blood thinners?

yup -nsaids are blood thinners, my pre op also excluded herbal supplements and rx like celebrex ( it is a nsaid too.)
