Family member with mets from uterine cancer

Hi, All....new here. I have a family member who is without computer capabilities, so I am hoping to find her some support here. She was dx'd with stage 4b uterine cancer with mets to liver/lungs. After several rounds of taxotere and carboplatin, the onc is changing over to alimta, ostensibly to go after the progression of the lung mets. Anyone have any success with this, problems with it, whatever? Thanks!

I'm very sorry your family member is dealing with this, but she's fortunate to have you on her side. I'm sure she appreciates your help and concern, but please be certain she is o.k. with your posting on her behalf (privacy issues).

I don't have any personal experience to share, but until someone comes along, you can try some searches here on our site.

I'm sure if anyone has a similar experience they will post when they see your query. You also may want to look at this public site http://www.cancer.gov/researchandfun.../cancercenters which lists US cancer centers including some that may have trials for certain advanced cancer, etc.
