Thanks For All The Info

I'm so glad for this site. It has saved my sanity and my dh's.
I am sceduled to have a tah for SEVERE dysplasia and endometriosis. My sisters (one a nurse, the other one is married to a surgeon) wants to know why a tah and not a tvh. I'm scheduled to meet with my doctor tomorrow to sign all the papers, and so he can answer my question so I will ask tomorrow, but was hoping someone might have some insight so I can quit working myself into a frenzy about it so any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for this site and will let my DR know about so he can pass the site on to other ladies in waiting.

Posting here like you have done, is great too because you can all share your stories and fears. Those of us that are post-op. like to pop over and let you all know that "waiting is the hardest part." I also asked my doctor about having a TVH instead of a TAH and he said if I was prolapsed he would, but also with the incision they can take a better peek around . That was the answer that I got from my doctor and once he said they could check everything else out better , I was okay with that one.

I asked my dr. if I could have a TVH but he said because of the size of the fibroids and uterus that TAH is the way to go for me.

I'm sure your doctor has a good reason and you can get your question answered when you meet with him tomorrow.
