Post Op Appts

Afternoon Ladies

I just wondered what goes on during a post op appt? I am scheduled for my two week post op this Wednesday, and was wondering besides looking at incisions, seeing how I am feeling etc, what else can I expect? Hoping this will not include a pelvic exam, just cant imagine hands and pushing on my abdomen just yet.

Hi Jill,

At my (2) week post-op appointment...my Dr. just checked my lap incisions and asked me how I was doing. No internal exam. I had that when I went back for my (6) week check-up.

I had a pelvic exam at my 3-week appt, but it really wasn't too bad. Regardless, you'll be okay.

No pelvic exam for me either. I was so worried about another pelvic exam and was so happy! I was told I would have a pelvic exam during my 6 week post op check. My doctor is good and doesn't hurt you. I had a pelvic exam by an ER doctor and I was still in pain 3 days after. I warned my doctor that I was still sore and I didn't even realize he checked me while I was talking to him and asking questions.
