people say I look better?

Back in august I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, then had my hysterectomy (they also took my ovaries) on sept 12. Since then I have been told my several people that my eyes look brighter and my skin color is better. Also, this is something I have noticed. Before surgery I had a big belly. So when I had swelly belly I really did not notice it much. But now I notice my belly is not as big as it used to be. So this surgery was definitely good for me!

If it helps to know, I was on POP'S and Depo for 10 years before I could finally get my surgery. I bled for 50 plus days staight when my new doc gave me the go-ahead for surgery. After I got the hormones out of my system and got the hyst. done, I felt so much lighter and optimistic. Maybe it's mental but getting the disease out of me and starting fresh really is changing the comments I'm getting from people. Eyes looking brighter is something my DH said to me right away, and I'm only a couple weeks post op. Best wishes to u.

Violet, I am glad you have done so well. Getting all that disease out does make us feel much better. Hope you continue to improve!

I've also noticed changes in myself! I use to have weekly breakouts on my face and since my surgery, my face has been clear and my skin seems to be not quite so dull.

Violet, I know what you mean about feeling different already. I noticed this morning that my belly is slowly going back down. According to my doctor my uterus was twice the size of a normal one. I'm just ready to feel better all the time and not worry about every month feeling bad.

I, too, was very sick before my surgery 3.5 weeks ago. Everyone who sees me say my eyes are brighter, that I am "glowing" and the loss of that 22+ pounds of belly is a huge improvement. I even tried on jeans yesterday and bought three pairs of 12's to replace the 16s I was wearing pre-surgery. What I can't figure out is that I can't seem to buy enough make-up! I feel so good that I want to look as good as I feel! In fact, and this is a BIG stretch for me, I am seriously considering entering the next casting call for the Dove Pro-Age Model!!!! This surgery has been the best decision of my life - next to my divorce 18 years ago.
