1-1/2 Weeks Post Op

Hello to all my wonderful Sisters. I have Very Good news for you! I had EVERYTHING taken out, just because I didn't want to wait around for my body to turn on me - - I simply got rid of it. My surgery was laperoscopic through my belly button and 3 1" incisions. Please allow me to ease your worries!! 7 hours after I had everything removed from inside me, I walked the halls painlessly and cheerfully. Nothing hurts, nothing is sore, if I didn't know better, I wouldn't even know it had taken place. I was ready for the works, I bought everything from the "store", and used none of it. I think we hear to many "horror" stories that don't necessarily apply to the majority of us.
There's nothing I cannot do with ease, so I have to keep reminding myself that there are up to 100 stitches inside of me that need pampered. Also, 1 year ago I had a complete tummy tuck and my tummy is flat and pretty. I was so scared that I'd have a big tummy again and would be stuck with it - - - not so! My tummy is still flat and pretty, just a
slight bit of swelling which is melting down all by itself. Relax, try not to think of the "what if's" and try to pull your emotions together - they are your enemy - not the hysterectomy. I had my menopause 17 years ago, so I have had ZERO symptoms. No hot flashes, not grouchy, maybe a little lazy feeling, and believe me, I'm taking full advantage of my "Princess" status. I even have a crystal bell on my nightstand for any and every whim I may have. My husband delights in taking care of me. So my experience is ALL GOOD, and it's pretty cool being the center of attention and being doted after. You're going to be fine. I believe your attitude will have a lot to do with the way you will go through the entire process. Try to be upbeat knowing that you are fixing to become a "lady of lavish, leisure!" bonniebolander60

bonniebolander,

I had a TLH/BSO nearly 6 months ago. I was also walking the halls of the hospital 8 hours after surgery. I was so amazed, and if I didn't have those tiny incisions, would swear I didn't have surgery at all!

I'm so glad you had such an uneventful, pleasant experience. I'm glad you are sharing it, I think it will help our "sisters" feel more confident and much less stressed out. bonniebolander
