Has this happened to anyone? What did your doctor do/suggest? Thanks.

Did you talk with your doctor about this? As I recall, you just had your staples removed today. Seems kind of early to me.

Really? Now, you're scaring me. And, yes, I did talk to my doctor. I just wanted to know what the outcome was for people who had the same issue, I guess to set my mind at ease.

I did have an issue with an incision after my incision revision. It did close up on its own.

I asked if it will close up since the staples had been removed and she said that they would, but I'm a worrywart.

Re: Part of incision not sealed after staples/steri strip removed?

I had my stitches removed after 5 days also. Although it looked to me like it wasn't properly sealed, my dh reassured me it was ok and now almost 7 weeks out it has healed beautifully. If it looks a tiny bit open, it's on, it will heal quicker than you think. Mine healed better after u showered and some of the dried blood came off. Then I lay without pants on so the air could get to it for a while. Hope it gets better real soon for you. Take care.

Did you mention to your dr that you had driven? This may be one reason for early opening.....

Re: Part of incision not sealed after staples/steri strip removed?

My incision popped open in three places ... Each about and inch long and half an inch deep or so ... They were infected so they had to be cleaned regularly and I was on an antibiotic. It took some time but by the 6 week check everything was sealed up nice and tight.
