Had Laparoscopy Post Op and now know my reason for my Hyst...
So I went to my Laparoscopy post-op appt and now finally understand why I need a Hysterectemy. I have what is called "Pelvic Congestion" The veins leading to my uterus are grossly enlarged (like as big as my uterus) which causes me to have pain and cramping throughout my cycle. They don't know what causes this but it is most common to occur in women in their twenties (which is me lol). I have three options:
1. Hysterectemy of my Uterus and Cervix (keeping the tubes and ovaries Thank goodnes!)
2. Lupron injections (which cure nothing and will only stall the Hyst 3-6 mos, plus I already have 3 counts against me for Osteoporosis including family history and the Lupron also increases that risk)
3. Do nothing and live with the pain :-(
So really I have one option. I will have my Hyst sometime in the first two weeks of October. The dr said his office will call me over the next few days to schedule the surgery and do preliminary paperwork. I am at peace with this decision and I am ready to feel better. Thanks for all the support I have already recived!

I also had pelvic conjestion. My veins were enormous!! Painfull periods, Pain with sex and well constant pain through out the day. I am now 17 days post op. I can feel the differce. I am of course still aching from the surgery but it is different. The pathology report also showed adeno. I went to many doctors for the pain. Had 2 surgeries ( cyst removal and ectopic) with different drs and each one said Wow you have really large veins. But I don't think that is the reason you are in pain. I am so thankful for the GYN I have now. He did an exploratory Lap thinking I maight have had endo. Found my monsters and the rest is history. It took me one year to decide weather to have my hyst. I am so happy I went through with it.
It seems not very many people are aware of this condition. You are the first person I have heard of having it also. Good to Know I am not just a freak of nature.
Keep posotive and let me know hao things go.

You must be glad to know the cause of your pain, Good luck with your upcoming surgery. I don't have pelvic congestion (not that I know of anyway) and they suggested lupron or a hyster for me too. I am going to have they hyster.
Good luck!

You don't know how nice it is to hear your story! I too was feeling like a freak of nature and my dr suspected Endo when in fact it was also the Pelvic Congestion! I may need to ask you some more ? as I get closer to my surgery. Thanks so much for sharing with me!
