Didn't make it to 6 wks, gave in to the temptation

I'm 5 1/2 weeks post op and have been sticking to the guidelines without straying from the course at all. I gave in today and had sex for the first time with my hubby. I know I should have waited until my post op check on Thursday but I didn't. Good news is it was wonderful. All systems seemed to be working just fine, no pain or discomfort. I even had the big "O", which has been on my mind for many weeks now as far as will it ever happen again. I freaked my hubby out afterwards though, i was so happy about the "O" that I cried.

Anyway, I know I should have waited til the doc says its ok, but it was a moment of weakness. Thanks for listening.

What you did, resuming intercouse before being cleared by your doctor, can be very serious and may jeopardize your recovery.

I think it would be a good idea to phone your doctor's office first thing on Monday morning and see if you can be seen sooner. Your doctor will likely want to check you out right away for signs of infection.

In the meantime, please don't do anything else that can harm your recovery process.
